New Streaming Bundle: Peacock, Netflix, and Apple TV+ for Xfinity Users
Earlier this week at the MoffettNathanson Media Internet & Communications Conference 2024, Comcast CEO Brian Roberts announced that Xfinity customers will soon be offered a streaming bundle, featuring Peacock, Netflix, and Apple TV+.
The bundle will deliver significant discounts on Peacock, Netflix, and Apple TV+, accessible to all Xfinity customers, no matter their internet plan. Xfinity features a range of internet options, including its traditional plans on the Xfinity Network and the newer NOW Internet packages, which start at just $30 per month.
By aligning the fastest-growing subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) service (Peacock), the world’s largest SVOD platform (Netflix), and the SVOD with the highest subscriber growth in Q1 2024 (Apple TV+) with Xfinity internet, Comcast aims to make this bundle a crucial part of consumers’ daily lives.
This strategy is designed to reduce cancellation rates and encourage customers to adopt additional Comcast products in the future. Numerous analysts have observed that media firms are essentially aiming to reconstruct the cable bundle by combining their various streaming services. It’s also important to note that Comcast also owns one of the two largest cable companies in the United States.
Current Subscription Rates for Netflix, Apple TV+, and Peacock
Netflix: Netflix offers different subscription plans catering to different needs. The “Standard with ads” allows streaming on 2 devices at a time ($6.99/month), while the regular Standard Plan expands to two supported devices in HD ($15.49/month). Finally, the Premium Plan allows up to four devices to stream in Ultra HD ($22.99/month).
Peacock: Peacock TV offers two subscription tiers. Peacock Premium with ads($5.99 per month), and Peacock Premium Plus, which is ad-free ($11.99 per month). Both tiers also provide annual plans, with Peacock Premium at $59.99 per year and Peacock Premium Plus at $119.99 per year.
Apple TV+: Pricing for Apple TV+ can vary depending on the offer you select. Firstly, if you purchase an Apple device, you can enjoy Apple TV+ free for three months. After a free seven-day trial period, the monthly subscription is just $4.99 per month. Also, Apple One includes Apple TV+ as part of a subscription bundle that combines up to five other Apple services into a single monthly package. Furthermore, the Apple Music Student Plan includes a complimentary subscription to Apple TV+.
